The phrase "in this country" is doing a lot of work here. The groundwork for this was laid by US acceptance of rendition, blacksites, Gitmo, drone killings, deadly sanctions, arming a genocide and more. Naive to think that fascistic foreign policy wouldn't find its way home. Free Rumeysa Ozturk.
"A terrified young student, snatched off the street by a masked police force taken thousands of miles across the country without anyone knowing. It is as flatly authoritarian as anything we have ever seen in this country," says Chris Hayes on Tufts student Rumeysa Ozturk's detention.

I know the restoration of Jackie Robinson's page to the DOD website doesn't sound like much, but it's a reminder that these bullies back off when challenged. They first said celebrating Robinson "cultural marxism". That was weird nonsense and they buckled like a belt

On the 22nd anniversary of the Iraq War, let's pause to remember everything US corporate media is hoping we'll forget -- beginning with their own active complicity.

BREAKING: Hundreds of Jews and allies have taken over Trump Tower chanting “We want justice, you say how. Bring Mahmoud home now!” and “Fight Nazis, not students.”

The civil disobedience is spawned by the ICE arrest of Palestinian student Mahmoud Khalil.

It's high time people understood that their political values can't be applied selectively. They either apply both here and abroad, or they're meaningless. You're either for democracy and equality everywhere, or you're not.

The price of inconsistency is what we're seeing all around us today.
