@maryharris.bsky.social listening to today’s show w/ Gen Lepper, I need to point out that IL Nat’l Guard CPT Dylan Blaha - who is also running for Congress in the 13th District - posted a similar message when the NG was first deployed to Chicago. In retaliation, his security clearance was revoked

Ok, I need to take my Indivisible hat off and speak as me for a moment. Trump’s naked angling for a Nobel Prize is gross (and no way should he ever even be considered), but there’s also something with the Newsm memes right now that I find distasteful.

Hey @udelaware.bsky.social and @wisc.edu - I have often spoken well of my experiences at each place, and would return to work for either in a heartbeat. If you follow Columbia’s lead, that will change.
Columbia and Brown, by settling, have encouraged this tactic. Authoritarians are emboldened by capitulation, and they won't stop until the cost outweighs the benefits.
Breaking: NSF is suspending roughly 300 grants with UCLA, following a DOJ finding on Tuesday that the university violated Title VI by "creating a hostile educational environment for Jewish and Israeli students."

ALA is alarmed by the termination of the Digital Equity Act grants program, a seismic investment in America's digital infrastructure.

This abrupt & illegal termination is extremely concerning for the libraries relying on funding to connect their communities. More: www.ala.org/news/2025/05...

Two nights ago my wife and I went to dinner with another couple and they told us how proud they were of their son and we traded pics of the crows we’ve befriended, talked music and I introduced them to Bob Vylan and this guy has utterly detached himself
from that human experience. It is beyond sad.

Goodnight, friends.

Since groceries are in the news, if you're able to donate a few bucks to your local foodbank or help restock a neighborhood food pantry, please do it. We need to take care of one another.

I love you.

Did you know Bluesky has a setting that will remind you to add alt text before posting any images?

Global Accessibility Awareness Day is a great day to help you get that set up.

Go to "Settings," then "Accessibility." Select the checkbox for "Require alt text before posting."

Let's talk about these two department store owners: brother and sister Louis Bamberger and Caroline Bamberger Fuld. From Newark, New Jersey.

They are random people, basically. But in the late 1920s, with fascism taking over Europe, they made a choice that profoundly changed the world: 🧵

Might help if we taxed the churches, too. I think there’s a (weak) argument that not doing so infringes on my right to not have any form of religion.

The Leverages and Hustle really ought to be required viewing these days.
The exhausting thing is we had Noah Wyle give the "big bag of money" speech in LEVERAGE:REDEMPTION to point out how morally bankrupt and ridiculous this concept of corruption is, had multiple audience members say "Wait, that can't be right OH MY GOD WHAT?" and this national reporter is 😀 👍.
Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.
