I *really* wanted to like The Witcher books bc someone I don’t like said they’re trash. I wouldn’t go as far as that as some of the stories in The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny weren’t bad, but I did almost drown the book when I read this:

Wow, @msnbc.com done effed up so much that my parents are no longer going to watch anything, including their beloved @maddow.msnbc.com
Maybe it’s just a ratings issue but all POC anchors? That’s suspicious.

I keep seeing this. Guys, their literal job is to figure out what to do. They are not helpless even if they are not the majority. I really hope we can stop treating some of the most powerful people in the world as helpless and without sentience.

The Washington Post editorial this morning essentially equating Biden's questionable pardons with Trump's outrageous Jan. 6 pardons was unconscionable. The newspaper I've been part of for 48 years has utterly lost its soul.

I’m trying to regain brain cells lost from working in corporate America by reading more non-fiction. As a former academic, reading a book about gender pre-Trump feels almost outdated 😭

For the last week, @kenbensinger.bsky.social and I have been in Altadena, to report on the devastation. But we kept coming back to an Arco gas station, which a group of locals have turned into a beacon of hope with tacos, clothes and community. This is their story: www.nytimes.com/2025/01/15/u...
Tacos, Water and ‘Homies’: A Gas Station Becomes a Uniquely L.A. Relief Site
Out of desperation and a need for social bonding, volunteers have banded together to help Altadena residents.

Watching an episode of Death in Paradise S13 that involves crypto and as they try to explain it I still don’t get it…

I’m sure others have already observed this but it’s hilarious that an efficiency commission requires two co-chairs

I know this is the *least* of all our worries, but who proofreads these?
Trump apparently just named Fox News host Pete Hegseth his secretary of defense?
