Things I’ve accomplished this year that I’m letting myself be proud of:
- Growing a baby for 30 wks (so far)
- Visiting 🇮🇪&🇬🇧
- Surviving a season script coordinating
- Reading 17 books (it’s something)
- Being a rock for my family
- Maintaining a marriage during one of the hardest years of my life

Caught an early screening & Q&A of “A Complete Unknown”
Laughed way more than I could have expected and was BLOWN AWAY by Timothée Chalamet’s live performances. He made me a Bob Dylan fan. A beautiful script and perfect performances.

Wicked was really good except for the 1 year intermission I don't need that long to go to the bathroom

The used book store in the town I grew up in has two adorable cats and I just spent an hour looking through books and petting sweet kitties and I feel healed. Sometimes going home makes the soul soar. 🩵

I've been struggling to write lately due to publishing setbacks and lack of confidence. I've found a few things that help and thought I'd share. Please tell me what works for you.

- Setting word targets
- Getting outside and exercising
- Absorbing all sorts of art
- Remembering why I started.

Allowing myself to read in a coffee shop with zero plans for the next few hours is beyond healing

Don’t feel like working on that thing today? Do it out of spite.

Writers who are also parents‼️
How do you manage the already tough task of sitting down to write (and actually being productive) WITH a child to care for/interact with?

Trying to picture my life as a creative WITH a baby in a few months and I’m TRULY FRIGHTENED.

Coming home for the holidays is like looking in a very dusty mirror. I suddenly see why I am the way I am, but I’m also sneezing profusely.

Any other screenwriters dabbling in fiction/novel writing after feeling super creatively bleh? Trying to pack any creative energy I have left into the last few months before I have this baby. 😅
