Me: This is a massive amount of surprisingly accurate information. Now it’s bedtime.
6yo: Oh. I was hoping you forgot. But blob fish are so cool!

It's always puzzling to know how to disagree politely with someone who states their opinion with complete confidence that everyone holds the same opinion.

Can we have one day? Just one normal day where nothing “unprecedented” or “tyrannical” happens? I’m so tired of living in 1930s Germany but with internet.

Today she’s making her siblings dinner for the first time. Tomorrow she’s got a full day of school and play practice. For this weekend, she wants to go drive around and find a protest to join. Not how I saw motherhood going, but proud to see she already knows she has a voice and can use it.

*comes back with another diet dr pepper* Here Mama! And I got a cup!

3yo: Yes! So you can share! Cuz we like to share!

6yo built a leprechaun trap. He was supposed to get stuck in the paint in front of the treasure chest. He’s gonna be excited he was tricked, and I get to peel the silly string off his dad’s D&D stuff. In the end, I think I’m the one who really got tricked🙃

What a lovely day to be able to sit on the deck and watch my littlest dragon be brave on the slide 🩵

So apparently I’m the meanest mom in the whole world. Is there an award? A certificate? Trophy maybe? Maybe it’s another mug. A 20 minute cleanup should not be worthy of such a title, but I digress.
