But I can soothe myself by singing now and that’s just huge on a strictly personal level.

Running for office is great. More people should.
There’s a huge emphasis placed on political power though, that overshadows the real impact that people can make outside of politics, or at least outside of elected office.
Politicians are often not the real changemakers.

I feel the rage of decades of mistakes, the crushing weight of generational systemic inequality, and the myth of the American dream.

Everybody wants immediate gratification. Elections are exactly so this kind of thing doesn't happen. You're supposed to weigh the person's performance over time, all the good and all the bad not subject them to the tyranny of short term anger.
