Let the battle begin. Trump vs California, version 2. I have no bets on who will win.
The EPA approved California’s EV rules. Trump still has options.
While the EPA approved California's ambitious plan to phase out internal combustion engine vehicles, the incoming Trump administration still has options to pull back the state's regulatory authority.

The battle over California's EPA wavier has a long way to play out.
Supreme Court keeps alive one challenge to California EV waiver
The Supreme Court will review one aspect of a challenge to California's emissions waiver, but the decision is not a slam dunk for opponents of the state's emissions rules.

GM will build 500 DCFC EV charging stations with ChargePoint. This announcement comes 3 months after a 400-site deal with EVgo, and Supercharger access in Sept as well.

Seems like GM finally GETS that carmakers need to kickstart + publicize #EV fast-charging. Only took, what, 10 years?

Everyone's talking about what Project 2025 and its authors joining the Trump Administration means for policy. Molly Boigon took a deep dive for Automotive News into what the industry could face for #electricvehicles, #autonomousdriving and California emissions standards.

This outlines the continuing development challenges for solid-state EV batteries. But because consumers so misunderstand many aspects of their vehicle needs, a 600-mile range -- so much better than an ICE -- would speed EV transition because it sounds so great.
Honda targets EV solid-state battery range of 620 miles, but small cell size still big problem
Honda details new specifications of the solid-state batteries it plans to deploy in the second half of the 2020s, outlining big gains in EV driving range and big cost reductions.

That tax credit does influence EV purchases. I think Calif. and some other states will replace it with a $5k incentive for EVs under $60k or something like that if the new administration kills it.
EV tax credit that Trump wants to ax influenced buying decisions more than vehicle price
Nearly two-thirds of premium EV owners and half of mass-market EV owners said the federal tax credits and other incentives influenced their purchase decision, according to J.D. Power.
