@prideatthepier.bsky.social is a hyperlocal grassroots org out of Huntington Beach doing fantastic work in difficult circumstances throughout OC. This live thread of what’s a local school board meeting is a great read. Follow and support these folks however you can. They’re the real deal.
We're here in PYLUSD. The room is standing room only - the anti-trans activists have shown up in force to support Leandra and push for trans exclusionary policies.

There's a fair number of 🏳️‍⚧️ supporters too - rainbow pins are being passed around.

Follow along as we cover public comments tonight.

Now we’re talking.

Do not obey in advance.
1. Here are some of my thoughts on the news by Erin Reed that some hospitals are denying new minor patients for gender affirming care:

Hospitals that obey in advance to illegal executive orders can and should be targeted for protest actions by trans activists groups.

This is such a wildly unprecedented situation in in L.A. County right now. Grateful we still have top shelf journalists like @jqwritesstuff.bsky.social and Rebecca Ellis to relentlessly report the facts. Good stewardship, indeed.

Today, I got a phone call from someone I first met 7 years ago.

A military family and their daughter, a young trans girl named Blue, came to Washington D.C. and met me. I promised Blue 7 years ago that I would fight to protect the trans community.

The punditry class doesn’t get that the overwhelming majority of trans kids and their families just want to be left the fuck alone and are tired of them selling clicks and subs off of us. I would say “there’s gonna be a reckoning”, but there won’t be. There’s not enough of us to matter.

It’s TransAwarenessWeek. I encourage all the other CisHet men who are parents/guardians/loved ones of trans kids to make themselves known. I’ve spent a lot of time in spaces for parents of queer kids and often I’m the only CisHet dude.

Stand up, guys. This the moment.
