Shimano 8 speed Nexus was on a Marin Presidio. Great build for a great value though I wished it had room for wider tires.

The igh is heavier and not as fast. And doesn’t allow for aggressive climbing or sprinting. But for a winter bike and commuter it’s ideal.

Well I can’t speak to the chemical compatibility but I use the spray for frame/bolts/components and the liquid for my fat bike chain. But I’m also an igh/belt drive believer. I rode a Nexxus 8 for like 7 years and I’m on my second winter with an Alfine 11.

I use Boeshield t9 for corrosion prevention. All the bolts frame pedals etc
