UPDATE: The Los Angeles Press Club has filed suit against the city of Los Angeles and LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell in the Central District of California's federal courts over its actions toward journalists covering anti-ICE protests in recent days.

Veteran photographer Michael Nigro was shot in the head with a non-lethal bullet while covering anti-ICE protests in LA. "It felt very very intentional," Nigro tells NPR, "a chilling effect to convince us to go away."

Other reporters say they have been targeted too.

There's been a running joke w/ some of my colleagues that "awards are bullshit." But I'd be lying to say if it still doesnt feel good to get one.

Really proud of the work I was able to contribute to this project. Without Rachel, this wouldn't have been possible www.rtdna.org/news/rtdna-a...

Klayman also argued against the disorderly conduct charge, saying intent is required and there was no proof Solometo intended to cause a disturbance.
Chen disagreed.
“It requires some level of intent to defecate on someone’s car on demand,” Chen said. “I don’t think you can accidentally do that.”

This is all true.

It’s also true that Musk and his minions aren’t actually saving the government much at all, if anything
Striking stat from @kellycnbc.bsky.social on this:

The rise in treasury yields since Trump’s tariffs were announced leads to an increase in US debt interest payments that is larger than all the DOGE savings.
