Exactly. They can just start over. Just as they did with Daniel Craig’s first movie which had a completely different timeline to the Piers Brosnan era. In Casino Royale Craig was at the start of his 00 career under Judi Dench’s M. In Goldeneye, Bond is well established, Dench is the newcomer.

Watched the first episode of season 1 last night. Excellent stuff. Like a much, much grittier version of The Rookie, with shades of The Wire and Line of Duty. Looking forward to getting fully caught up!
