Here’s dedication for you, Ringo stays at his drum kit for a brief tea break during the recording of ‘Baby’s In Black’, August 1964. Saucer precariously balanced!

Really enjoyed chatting with @chrischibnall.bsky.social, creator of Broadchurch & former Doctor Who showrunner, about his excellent debut crime novel Death At The White Hart. Set in contemporary Dorset, it’s highly recommended for whodunnit fans. Read my interview in The Dorset Magazine out today.

Left my PC for an hour and came back to this screen. It’s been working fine all day. I’ve run the system diagnostics it suggests and everything’s passed. Any suggestions welcome please! Everything is backed up in the cloud fortunately! Thanks.

Saw this one on the Beatles and Cavern Club Photos Facebook page today. Taken (presumably by Linda) during sessions for Long Long Long this day in 1968.

Congratulations to Leicestershire, deserved winners of Division Two this year. Northamptonshire’s middle order held up the trophy presentation with a spirited batting display which offers some hope going into the long winter. Counting the days until the new season already.

I saw this one on Facebook earlier, John photographed for Rolling Stone 57 years ago today, 18 September 1958.

Had an enjoyable hour talking Beatles with author/broadcaster Stuart Maconie today & the wonderful cast of supporting characters he explores in his excellent new book. I’m also looking forward to speaking to another Beatles fan Chris Chibnall shortly, this time about his fantastic debut crime novel!

The Cricket Regulator has ruled following the T20 Vitality Blast match between Northants & Lancs in which Phil Salt’s bat did not pass an initial on-field test. Post-match tests were inconclusive. The regulator has now found the bat to be compliant with the regs and will take no further action.

I love being able to write such different stories. Here's my final byline this week - a big feature for Lancashire Life Magazine about an historic moment for @lancscricket.bsky.social as its women's team begin their first season in the new era of professional women's county cricket.

Blazing hot 🥵 at Northampton for tonight’s Vitality T20 Blast game between Northamptonshire Steelbacks and Nottinghamshire Outlaws.

McCartney and Springsteen photographed at LIPA today. A Macca appearance at Bruce’s Anfield gig tomorrow now looks certain.

What an outstanding performance from Ben Sanderson tonight, 6 wickets for just 8 runs in four overs including a hat-trick! I reckon that’s the third best T20 bowling return in Blast history. It saw Northamptonshire to victory over Worcestershire, their fourth win in four games.

#NowPlaying An #RSD25 purchase - Sam & Dave’s 1978 Nashville Sessions including reworkings of their classic sixties hits and much more. It’s impossible to beat the originals, but those incredible voices are always a joy.

Recorded sometime during 1999, which would make it the Try Whistling This tour. Several tracks from that album on this set.

Delighted with my #RSD25 haul. I managed to get most of what I wanted. A really friendly atmosphere in the queue and Iannand his family at the Vinyl Revival store made everyone feel welcome.
