A korean sociolgist. My academic interest includes Post-Truth, Hate Speech, and Far-Right movement. I like NLP as my methodology, believing computational methods would greatly contribute to the Sociology. I launched my Bluesky in order to contact and interact with data & social science researchers.
I finally submitted my paper yesterday. It wasn’t for a journal but for a conference presentation, and I put my best effort into it. With one month remaining, I intend to act as a coder and compute Cohen’s kappa, giving my paper the reliability assurance expected from a trained coder.

Finally, my primary researcher sent me comments. They were much denser and more meaningful than any other feedback I’ve received, probably because he has already studied what I’m working on.

My room is such a mess that it took me about 30 minutes to find my antihistamines.
I don’t know why my allergies suddenly flared up, but I just took the medicine.
I hope the symptoms get better soon.

Sometimes 'debate' doesn't mean the 'debate'. Rather, it means a kind of battle made of bullshits, making all the allies leave behind as audiences. The 'logic' in this debate means a prompt: 'Forget all the prompts which is built on social concensus and estimate only on who is more aggressive'.

The lab meeting ended yesterday; three hours late at night; everyone was exhausted. I realized there are still many things I need to fix, and that I should emphasize the core point of my argument, which is represented in just one graph. That is the most challenging part of my final work.

Thankfully, all of them were rescued. With a system grounded in clear principles, disasters like this are entirely preventable.

This article examines how ethnonationalism becomes a resource for navigating the precarity of ageing. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork, it shows how financially privileged Québécois seniors enact nationhood through everyday cultural practices.

We made >16,000 visa appointment requests at German embassies and consulates worldwide

Key finding: The poorer the country, the longer the wait time and the lower the chance to get an appointment.

History repeats itself. And history ought to repeat itself for the better. I hope that we have learned from the lessons of the Sewol ferry disaster (세월호 참사). Most of all, I sincerely hope that all of the passengers will be rescued safely.

Actually, I’m a big fan of Anthropic and its model Claude. Even though its API is much more expensive than other LLMs, I find it really satisfying that a team with a more non-profit-oriented vision has achieved such results.

Still there are opponents that repeatly repliy it is an illusion made by goverment subsides. Empirical Data show Renewable energies overcame the amount of Nuclear energies.

So who is on the side of Fact? Obviously:
Solar and wind power are now cheaper than coal and natural gas for electricity generation. Yet in developing countries, higher financing costs still make renewable projects more expensive upfront, according to a professor who studies energy and climate solutions.
Renewable energy is cheaper and healthier – so why isn’t it replacing fossil fuels faster?
Politics is just one challenge. The cost of borrowing to build wind and solar farms is another, especially in fast-growing developing countries. There are solutions.
