This is Washington at its worst.

We need to ban Congressional stock trading.

As @cmewing.bsky.social explains, Continetti also gets entirely wrong who is and isn’t to be counted among the constituents. That’s so telling: What Continetti says should be read as primarily an ideological claim about who he thinks *should* count and how the boundaries *should* be drawn.
Just one problem: Continetti is completely wrong. Constituents are those who reside in a district represented by an elected official—not only registered voters or only citizens. Congressional districts must be roughly equal in population, and that population is based on the *resident* population.

The Tea Party protests in April 2009 had about a third of a million people involved, and the political media treated it like a game changer for the Obama presidency.

The No Kings rallies were AT LEAST ten times bigger than the Tea Party protests. Will the press keep pretending Trump is popular?
Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop!

Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels
"No Kings Day" protests turn out millions
Our unofficial estimate is that around 4 million people attended a protest event yesterday. Anti-Trump resistance is outpacing 2017.

“There weren’t any campaigns that had failed after they had achieved 3.5% participation during a peak event,” says Harvard political scientist Erica Chenoweth – a phenomenon she has called the “3.5% rule”.

The '3.5% rule': How a small minority can change the world
Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.

It is 100% carrying water for the opposition to participate in this collective delusion that Dems for some reason need to answer for every teen who throws a rock rather than hold the Trump admin accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence.

They are in charge.

Then Trump brought the chaos.

He is responsible.

Here's something everybody should be paying attention to: Congressional Republicans are trying to weaken the Affordable Care Act and put millions of people at risk of losing their health care. Call your Senators and tell them we can't let that happen.
Shhh. Republicans are trying to repeal Obamacare again. Sort of.
They’re not branding it an Obamacare repeal this time around, but congressional Republicans are pursuing cuts to programs that are part of the 15-year-old health-care law.
