I really like roasted brussel sprouts (cast iron skillet, split side down until dark brown, with bacon or salt pork.) I was a big sprout hater for yeaaaaars before I came around. They say that the newer sprout is less bitter? But is that just because of old taste buds?

I feel guilty about avoiding it as well, but I have to remind myself that bathing in this awfulness isn't going to do me any good, and it won't help them either. It's a deliberate deluge to get us to give up, but it's not going to work.

They talk about Narnia as packaging the whole Christian mythos as propaganda for kids, but really it's a more palatable retelling for the modern age. A more forgiving version of Jesus for post WWII.

C.S. Lewis became a Christian later in life, and had some interesting opinions about Christianity (the whole idea of adherence to faith, rather than worship of one specific deity was a bit radical.)
