Germany’s interior minister wants to negotiate directly with the Taliban to send Afghan migrants deported from Germany back to Afghanistan.

Deporting anyone to a place where they face risk of abuse shows a blatant disregard for basic human decency.

Carlos should be spending #Father’sDay with his family. Instead, he has been disappeared to the CECOT mega-prison in El Salvador, with no way for his partner or daughter to contact him. We demand the immediate release of all those disappeared to CECOT. We must #BringThemBack.

Senator Alex Padilla was fulfilling his Congressional oversight duties when he was thrown to the ground and handcuffed.

This is no isolated instance; this is a pattern of behavior by the Trump administration.

There is simply no justification for this abuse of authority.

🧵1/ Donald Trump is sending National Guard troops into California—over the objection of the governor—to crack down on immigration protests.

It’s a deliberate misuse of military power. And it demands public scrutiny. 👇

Great news out of the courts today. Like we've said from the very beginning, an asylum ban is an asylum ban, regardless of how an administration tries to hide it. It's illegal and inhumane.
JUST IN: A federal judge has invalidated key components of a Biden-era rule on asylum claims — finalized under the Trump administration — ruling that its restrictions on asylum-seekers violated the clear language of federal law.

🚨There are reports that ICE may disappear around 177 people at Bluebonnet Detention Center in TX to #ElSalvador today.

When we say we need this type of leadership - we mean, NOW.

We're so glad to see Kilmar Abrego Garcia alive. We thank @vanhollen.senate.gov for fighting for his constituent. It's the type of leadership that we need to see from Congress for ALL immigrants disappeared to CECOT without due process.

We shouldn't be sending anyone to a torture prison. Full stop.
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

Senators Schatz & Blumenthal are forcing votes on as many mid-level nominees as possible. Over 300 by Schatz because he’s holding ALL at the State Dept. Blumenthal is on Judiciary, Homeland Security, Armed Services, & Veterans’ Affairs. That’s A LOT of stalling that cuts time for harmful GOP laws.
