Lennie approves.

We have snow.

Lennie will do anything you want for a treat - he also takes almost 20 minutes to eat his dinner because he is so easily distracted.
November 8, 2025 at 6:40 PM
Gail understands being hungry and on your own - she would pay for SNAP and donate to every airport food drive to support TSA employees who are working without pay.

When I had the two lab sharpei mixes - the big black lab-like boi (Abel) would run out an catch balls. 3/4 of the way back, his brother, Cain, would tackle him, steal the ball and bring it to me.

Lennie agrees. He has snapped several traps trying to eat the peanut butter bait.

Gail and Lennie are eagerly awaiting Furiosa pupdates.
November 4, 2025 at 11:38 AM
Gail came up to me at precisely 7 pm and told me it was time for dinner which is normally at 8. She does not have the patience for human inventions like time changes.
November 3, 2025 at 1:53 AM
Not faulting her for deciding that she is now old and deserves to lounge all she wants - she had a hard early life and the vet says that even Lennie at 8 is elderly. (He had some of that white as a puppy but is definitely graying)
November 2, 2025 at 9:35 PM
Gail’s record was about 18 ft off the ground. She has recently decided she is too old (at least 10 or 11) to climb this high but still tries to scale tree trunks for squirrels.
November 2, 2025 at 9:30 PM
Even in her elderly state - Gail would have tried to climb that tree.

Making a pork ragu this morning. Kitchen smells delicious. Lennie keeps coming by to check the stove.
November 2, 2025 at 4:34 PM
It is cooling off outside and rained today so we are finding mice in the house again. Current count - peanut butter baited trap - 1, rescued hunting dogs - 0. Lennie correctly claims they are not raccoons. Gail is confused by the fact that they are inside, not outside.

Lennie would like you to know that pictures of him in his Thing 1 costume are not AI. He is aware that his t-shirt is a little big, but he thinks he absolutely rocks the blue wig. Gail, who looks like him, is Thing 2.
November 1, 2025 at 1:57 PM
Gail is also perfect and they are great together because they are essentially the same dog.
November 1, 2025 at 2:41 AM
If you have popcorn Lennie will come trick or treat at your house. He and Gail are Thing 1 and Thing 2
November 1, 2025 at 12:29 AM
Gail’s patience with small humans has declined with age so she settled for barking through the front door.
November 1, 2025 at 12:26 AM
Lennie and Gail did not dress up this year but last year they were Thing 1 and Thing 2 - Lennie rocked his blue wig.

Had lunch with my son yesterday. Got to his place in Lakeview while he was still walking his dog so I took pictures of some of the Halloween decorations.
October 26, 2025 at 7:17 PM
Lennie wishes you all the best - reminding you of his second worst day this year when he trapped himself in a hole in his favorite blanket.
October 26, 2025 at 7:14 PM
But if you need to test unpredictable doors - you need a Lennie. He is brave, independent and fearless (and trainable but not so bright). Also will happily locate and tree raccoons for you.
October 15, 2025 at 4:36 AM
Lennie trapped himself in a fleece Stitch blanket the other day - it had a hole in the corner and he got his head through it and then realized the blanket was too heavy for him to pull. He is unfazed by the automatic Library doors.
October 15, 2025 at 4:33 AM
That would be like telling Lennie that he cannot tree raccoons.
October 15, 2025 at 4:14 AM
That is great. I saw this display over the weekend and thought it was fun. If you look behind the bench there are 3 werewolves lounging against the fence and some characters that look like kids picked them on the porch.
