Super excited that this amazing book is finally available for preorder. It was written by over 50 Indigenous Peoples from around the world and contains stories, poetry, and critical thought pieces on how TEK is used and extracted from our communities and what folks are doing to protect it.

"Many fishermen now felt like turkeys voting for Christmas" 🤦🏻‍♀️

So crazy that an idea plugged by Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage could turn out to be a BAD thing that disproportionately impacts the working class. Super unpredictable from such altruistic characters.

Still my favourite strand line discovery to date - a female Phronima sedentaria (‘monster in a barrel’) - Isles of Scilly, October 2023!

An amphipod crustacean, she parasitises salps, devouring them from the inside, forming a vessel to raise her young 👽

I have noticed every morning around dawn, a flock of geese fly over my local pond, honking. And the previously calm, floaty geese on the pond fuss for a few minutes and then they all simultaneously take off & join the flock. It feels like a sort of goose school run. Do geese have a school run?

Sometimes being on social media can feel like watching the world burn, and then you discover things like #Smallwonders and it becomes a game I want to play again. But I'll be that kid that takes it too far, cause tiny nature is 90% of my camera reel
Here's a baby trunk fish I found one time

This feels like a very worthwhile first repost. Hello bluesky. For info, my algorithm should mostly consist of hot worm time and similar.
Sometimes I like to draw a really hot bath and shut out the lights and pretend to be one of those deep sea worms that lives on hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean. I call it my hot worm time.
