things are so terrible politically I did something as a random act of hope that I never in a million years thought I’d do — adopt a cat. Adopt 2 cats! It is, somehow, an act of believing in a different order of value and possibility.

I watched first 3 new episodes last night. Season4:2 just slayed me. So good. Subtle and raw, ordinary glimpses of human hearts in motion, exposed. Highly recommend.

I used to live near Manzanar so this particular erasure is especially tangible…the site is staggering, a place as important as Statue of Liberty in terms of the story we tell about the U.S.

I live in eastern WA wine country and this story from OR wine country is yet another staggering example of how ag labor in the U.S. is dehumanized and targeted. Without the efforts and skill of immigrant ag workers there is no wine and beer industry in the PNW.
