Today’s sunrise showed as a pretty orangey-pink over the treetops. It pairs nicely with this drawing from February 26, 2025. Have a good day, dear ones! 💙🩷🧡

Instead of lunchtime doomscrolling, I brought a book to read and filled up my water bottle for the afternoon. I feel like this was a good choice. 🌳

Good morning, friend! 🌱☀️ I am glad to see you and hope you have a good day however your moments unfold.

💙🧡💛 Paired with today’s thoughts. We’re putting things in motion for my mom to come live with us. I wonder how many other families are doing the same. This change is not simple. Still, I’m surprised at how calm I feel now that we all made the decision.

My fellow Americans, we officially hit a new low today.

Thanks to felon Trump’s all out assault on democracy, we are now on a civil rights loss warning list with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Italy, Pakistan & Serbia.

Nonviolent civil resistance is a must!

Trudeau: "I want to speak first directly to the American people. We don't want this. We want to work with you as a friend and ally. We don't want to see you hurt either. But your government has chosen to do this to you. As of this morning, markets are down and inflation is set to rise dramatically."

This is 100% bullshit. There are no algorithms. Musk and his incel clown posse are not forensic accountants and do not know how to audit. Discovering fraud is a labor-intensive project that can never be done by looking at payments alone. This is just a thinly-veiled rationale to gut Social Security.
Mike Johnson on Elon Musk: "We meet late into the night in his office and we've looked at that. What he's finding with his algorithms crawling through the data of Social Security system is enormous amounts of fraud, waste, and abuse."

Daily weaving doesn’t have to be part of a big, planned project. Sometimes it’s like pencil doodling, except with materials I pick up around the house. This loom is a shallow box from cat food packaging. Warp & weft are leftover yarn and a few fabric scraps. My mind got to wander in the slow craft.

Today I took a walk holding hands with my partner, made chickpeas, wrote a few pages, played scrabble with my son, wrote my representative, donated to mutual aid, took a few minutes to imagine what we’ll build in all those empty lots left behind after we abolish prisons and detention centers.
Don’t stop doing the things you love, loving the people you love and showing that love in acts of communal care because you’re afraid. Fear is how they thrive. Community. Care. Joy and Love is how we rebel. 🌈 💙✊🏽#communityasrebellion

I think it's very notable that politicians are not out there telling people what government layoffs and spending cuts cost us and how they affect us.

Want to go visit the national parks this year?
Sorry.
The reservation system is shut down, EMT personnel are gone, so don't get hurt or lost. No one can clean the bathrooms or cabins, so they'll be closed. Rangers are fired.

One thing Democratic leadership could do right now is to name an alternate HHS secretary--someone to provide ongoing public updates and health information. And do it for other departments too. Start showing voters what a Democratic government would look like--press conferences, speeches, all of it.

Project 2025 was unpopular because of things like the plan for Trump to shut down the CFPB, which helps you get your money back if a bank cheats you.

Would really love if Green Day would just re-release American Idiot like it's a new album. So many people have memory holed it or didn't pay attention and we really need that energy right now.

Don’t just say DEI as if it’s a bad word. Spell it out.

Say diversity, which is the lifeblood of American society & culture & innovation.

Say equity, which a just society should pursue.

Say inclusion, because decent people believe in increasing belonging, not isolating people who are different.
