There's a convenience store due to open soon at the bottom of my street, and I'm so much looking forward to being able to go downstairs, go out of the gate, and buy a little snack any time I want to.

When did "out of pocket" suddenly replace "off the wall" to mean, 'something unexpected or unusual'?
"Out of pocket" should refer to work expenses that you pay for yourself, e.g. paying to travel to a work event or paying for stationery. What does "out of pocket" have to do with 'unusual'?

I went out for coffee but my usual place was full, so I ended up somewhere else, and in my discombobulation I forgot to ask for decaf, so now I have caffeine on top of my meds. This is going to be an interesting day.

People in the gym are taking their shoes off and using the machines in their socks. 🤢
I avoided a whole set of machines because of one guy sitting with his socked feet on the pad of the leg curl while checking his phone.

Spent my first day of unemployed freedom at the seaside. Ate ice cream, collected some cool beach rocks, bought knock-off legos, and didn't miss work at all.

I'd hoped that adhd meds would help to regulate my sleep. Instead, they just give me the motivation to get up and go to the gym when I can't sleep/ when I'm up at 6am on a Sunday.

Annoyed several men in the gym this morning by leaving the weight machine seats on the lowest height settings after my sets, because their defaults are not universal defaults.
Also they don't wipe the machines after they're done so who's the real bad guy here?

I'm writing my goodbye e-mail for work (I officially finish on Monday). Since so many people are leaving right now and sending cheesy thank-you e-mails, it seems to be the done thing, so I'm trying to convince myself that it's just politeness and not humble-bragging to talk about my work.
