Fun evening supporting Tony Hawk’s nonprofit, The Skatepark Project, which expands access to outdoor recreation–funding 700 skateparks across the U.S. The event, a kickoff to JP Morgan Healthcare-palooza, brought together two of my favorite worlds—science and skateboarding.

Question for the #ultrarunning and #trailrunning folks—my PT suggested I get a pair of Hokas while I deal with some soft tissue issues in my foot. Are the Speedgoat 6’s decent? Better than Challengers? I generally wear Altra Lone Peaks, so this will be an adjustment. I run in the NorCal hills. Thx!

First 30-mile week since May. It’s been a long year of injuries, but I’m finally starting to turn a corner. Feeling ready to start logging bigger miles and eyeing some races.
