So Trump is defunding the police.
Department of Homeland Security is cutting over $187 million or 86% of homeland security funding to New York State which will radically defund NYPD, FDNY, and NY State Police terrorism programs, according to a letter from New York Governor Kathy Hochul to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.

This shit is beyond evil. In a malestrom of other horrible shit happening around you; Please continue to speak up; don't let the horrors happening in Gaza get swept under the rug. History must remember the complicity of the United States in the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians at the hands of Israel
I am beyond livid. The US State Dept is now banning children from Gaza in need of dire medical aid.

Once again a reminder that the Trump regime is a fascist regime. Smh. Horrific.

Literally had someone ask me this today in response to a point about Israel deliberately starving Palestinian babies death.

Despicable callousness. Beyond inhumane. There’s nothing to say to such cruel people. Let’s instead continue to raise our voices & actions relentlessly to end this genocide.

An astonishing figure in this piece:

Last year, the U.S. budgeted $12.8B for new affordable housing.

This country is now poised to spend $45B on immigrant detention centers.

That's nearly *four times* as much on cages as on homes—in the middle of a devastating housing and homelessness crisis.
Are We About to Have Labor Camps in the United States of America?
If you think that’s far-fetched, then you really haven’t been paying attention to what the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress have been up to lately.

That’s right. The billionaire bailout bill forces your tax dollars to pay for concentration camps and masked thugs to disappear your neighbors without due process. 16M people will be thrown off healthcare to pay for that, along with tax breaks for the rich.
Take a minute to look at these increases to the ICE budget in the GOP mega bill. Take another minute to let it sink in. They're preparing a police state that will far exceed rounding up Spanish-speaking brown people.

ICE *already* can't meet their detainment numbers without rounding up children, veterans, people born in the U.S., people with no criminal records, people at immigration hearings, plus academics and visitors with valid visas.

So who do they plan to detain with >10x the budget?

The answer is: you.
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

I was 19 when 9/11 happened. I lived through post-9/11 hate, the "anti-Shariah" movement, & hype around the Muslim ban.

But with Zohran's primary win, I don't think I've ever seen THIS level of Islamophobia & anti-Muslim hate from BOTH GOP and Democrats.

And the sad truth is this—
