COMING NOVEMBER 12 -- Performance Reviews

Meet Appleton & Associates, a workplace so toxic it destroys the lives of everyone it touches, in this darkly funny new satire.

Longtime friend and fellow novelist Timothy Carter (author of YA books Epoch and Evil?), on Performance Reviews:

“In his second novel, Jeff Cottrill takes the modern workplace to court, prosecutes it for crimes against the soul, and sentences it to life imprisonment in a can of whoop-ass.”

Seeing the Frankingstein this afternoon.

(Trying to make "Frankingstein" happen, the way "skellington" has become popular slang for skeleton. I don't think I'll succeed.)

Looking forward to seeing how del Toro reinterprets this bit.

To be honest, my first question is: How far does the definition of "bad behaviour" stretch?
Are we going to be pelted with random subway announcements of "GET YOUR BAG OFF THE EMPTY SEAT, DIPSHIT" or "STOP MANSPREADING" every two minutes?

TTC to introduce pilot project calling out bad behaviour on station speakers
The TTC told the Star this project is currently under development and testing at the moment.

Barbara Bel Geddes as Midge in Vertigo. She's supposed to be smart, sweet but plain young woman compared to Kim Novak, but she's actually the one that would cure a lot of men of their agoraphobia and inspire them to buy nice clothes and attend every single event where she might show up.
What’s your all time favorite Hollywood Homely fail? When a woman is meant to be unattractive but she’s gorgeous. Thinking of how Safety Not Guaranteed has a key moment where a man’s ex is in the script old and no longer attractive and she’s a knockout who the movie still plays as old.

This is a lovely bookshop in Worcester, England where Charles Dickens read A Christmas Carol in 1858, back when it was a hotel. I had the honour of headlining there a year ago.

Mondegreen of the day:

In Eddy Grant's "Romancing the Stone", when he was singing "Every night and every day / Gonna love the hurtin' away," I used to hear it as "Every night and every day / I'm in love, my heart ain't a wang."

I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.

Welp. The past two weeks has been, far and away, the most baseball (or any sport, for that matter) I've watched since like 1994.
I guess I'm permitted to return to civilian life now?

Enjoy the song.
