I’ve come back to Bluesky solely to give an update on this! The narrator for This Wretched Valley is AMAZING. But, the writing is way too good that I’m abandoning listening to it in order to just read it lol.

Is the actual fish scary looking? I think it’s irrelevant because all fish scare me and I 100% would pet this fellow regardless if given the chance. I die first in a horror movie, by the way.

Spring training starts in only a few weeks! The college softball season started a few days ago. These women are so incredibly talented and play so hard. My wife and I have been watching for a few years now and will stop watching MLB during college softball playoffs. I highly recommend it!

I am slightly ashamed to admit I’ve owned This Wretched Valley but haven’t read it yet. Anything @rachelharrison.bsky.social recommends ends up being something I enjoy. I hit such a bad slump last year and am just starting to recover. I will read it next though!

I’ve also used coffee and cilantro in the past to have them tell me how if they owned a news site, would they publish good or bad articles on those things given their own thoughts on them. It’s weird but seems to have worked with them lol.

I’ve been almost exclusively comp to this point as well (and some rumors of horror lit next semester but until it’s officially on the schedule I’ll stay cautiously optimistic). Yes! I think it really opens their eyes to the bias in media.

I am so excited for this. It’s going to make my two hour drives to and from school go by so quick. And I’ll probably just be lecturing my students on why they should listen to it haha
