Getting back into things on Bluesky. NBA/Celtics, tennis, fantasy and GM sim sports, music.
On the one hand, halfway through The Clone Wars and it's getting pretty good. On the other...

Incredible. These assholes in power are NOT inevitable.
HOW IT HAPPENED: James Andrew Malone, the mayor of a town of 5,000, ran on education, abortion rights, and opposing Elon Musk—in a district that had *never* voted Democratic.

Until tonight.

Democrats flip deep-red Pennsylvania district in special election shocker
No Democrat had ever won this ancestrally Republican seat, but it's now the second Democratic pickup of the year.

Devastating cuts to cancer research in the name of DOGE BS seems like the easiest PR slam dunk in history for the Democrats. Do they even know it, or know what to do about? Are they waiting for polling that says "cancer good/bad"?

This is blood-boiling. Charles Rogers was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam after being wounded three times leading the defense of a position.

Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

In light of everything happening, I wrote about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails. dansinker.com/posts/202…

"If some know nothing, nothing's keeping some from knowing it all
What nobody saw is anybody's call
Predispositions turn spaces in men
Into thirsty pages for a hell-bent pen
Professional victims with recycled lies
Stoking satanic panic in fear-addled minds..."

Elon Musk's mother moved to South Africa in the year Apartheid was created, and she and Elon left the year it ended. The last Apartheid Prime Minister, a man who refused to testify at the Truth and Reconciliation Committee, was a family friend who stayed at their home. This is not a crazy theory.
What’s his beef against USAID in particu….oh. Wow.

The kind of basketball that breeds lazy habits: shooting tons of threes, switching everything on defense, leaving certain players like Brooks or Caleb Martin open. The Celtics may be pacing themselves playing this way, but other teams are playing harder and tougher and taking advantage of them.

Al Horford's three-ball has been SO on the money this season.

This record has really been hitting the sweet spot this week. Hadn't clicked for me since it came out two years ago, until now.

You ever sit around 8-9 years ago thinking about Christians loving/worshipping Donald Trump, and then been paralyzed in a useless non-stop stupor since? Hate when that happens.

The election post-mortems are infuriating. If liberals start doing exactly what MAGA and their Substack/NYT columnist centrist PR people tell them to do, no reward is coming. It's weak, and a trap, and won't get any traction in this media environment.

I used to post about the NBA and tennis all the time and I’d like to do that sometimes, but not on X. A few years ago I sheared down those political accounts I followed and stopped posting altogether. Perhaps Bluesky will represent a new start from this dark place.
