There is lots of good information on this but Frederick Wiseman’s Domestic Violence and the scenes it has with police out on patrol—particularly the final scene of the movie—is some of the most revealing moments ever captured on film about how police legally and culturally approach DV incidents.
24% of victims who call 911 over a DV incident are arrested or threatened w/ arrest themselves; victims are far more likely to be jailed than their rapists/abusers. You don't have to be a leftist or abolitionist to know the current response system doesn't work+endangers victims
