Gisèle Pelicot addressing her choice to keep the surname "Pelicot":

"When the trial began, my children were 'ashamed' of the name. I have grandchildren called that. I want them proud. My name is known worldwide now. They shouldn't be ashamed. Today we will remember Gisèle Pelicot."

What a woman.

As C4 explains, children of single farmers with the average value of a farm (£2.2m) will pay £140k tax. It’s zero if the farmer is married. The govt plans mean farmers will receive a £1.5m tax free allowance. That’s £1m more than the most of the population.

We are pleased that the Scottish Government has confirmed to us this morning that it will be publishing its Statement of Case lodged with the Supreme Court. Their lawyers have advised us that SG hopes to put this on its website today and will confirm the position with us as soon as they can.
We have written today to the Scottish Government, EHRC and Amnesty UK, giving notice that we intend to lodge an application with the UK Supreme Court for disclosure of all unpublished submissions in the For Women Scotland appeal case, due to be heard on 26/27 November and asking if they object.
