No, I’m clearly not saying that. Do you think guidance on deciding whether interventions should move forward to a trial has direct benefits to health? You do need to explain how your work will improve research and lead to those benefits though. No one will fund you otherwise.

Not clearly different to me tbh-thinking about the properties of study designs has a lot in common with thinking about the properties of analysis methods. If your methodology work has no useful application, then that’s another matter - good luck getting that funded!

We’ve had PPIE input on a few fairly methodological projects Georgia (work on methods for detecting fake clinical trials, work on how to determine whether or not an intervention is worth testing in a trial). Happy to discuss if useful
