Very excited that the work on combining TROPOMI with VIIRS to detect methane leaks led by Tobias de Jong got published today. This innovation enables us to pinpoint the sources of large brief methane releases.

For that to optimally happen, a lot of people have come together and it has been great connecting with a lot of them in Baku. We are looking forward to continuing that work to together support the so urgently needed methane emission reductions.

Looking forward to the last days of the conference, which will include participation in today’s 4PM WasteMAP event moderated by Tom Frankiewicz at the Global Methane Hub pavilion.

Currently at COP29 in Baku to further the use of satellite methane data to support emission mitigation. Looking forward to a productive second week!

Earth Information Day at #COP28!

SRON is proud to be one of the partners of the LOW-Methane initiative, which we will support with satellite data analysis including from our TWOS project with the Global Methane Hub.
