Same as before. Tall. Strategist for a living. Whatever the hell that is.
Not quite sure when I became the ‘getting up early to bake on Sunday’ type, and my 20-something self is disappointed in me, but I made sausage rolls today. And although I was sceptical, @nigella.bsky.social made it so much easier with her processor puff pastry recipe. Worked a treat

This is brilliant and lovely
Yay. Priceless. The right column at the right time. And a gleefully English two fingers to the haters.

This is not caused primarily by "screen time".

It's been caused by the mass eradication of third places for young people in basically every city over the past three decades - and a society that's hostile to the concept of teens socialising in public spaces.

Bathroom scales in a hotel room is institutional homophobia. Especially after a week in Italy

@jayrayner1.bsky.social Jay, I’ve always enjoyed your columns, but your final OFM one is brilliant. Every line could be a placard. Especially the one about small plates needing bigger tables

@kattybkay.bsky.social @scaramucci.bsky.social hi both, just listened to the founder member q&a, and was curious about your forgiveness of musk’s salute. He’s just been speaking at the AfD conference in Germany with talking points about moving past historic guilt. is this enough evidence for you?

I very much hope that the tractor brigade inconveniencing people in central London get the same treatment as #JustStopOil people got for *planning* to inconvenience people

This year my music got 96,000 streams on Spotify and had 46,000 listeners and I made… $185.61. Total.

This is indefensible. Truly an evil company. I totally get why people enjoy using Spotify, but if you want to support musicians, please consider buying our stuff on Bandcamp once in awhile. 💚

I know lots of bad things are happening in the world, but I think that the fact we’re going into the third week of ‘Black Friday’ emails may well be the worst

Stir-up Sunday means this recipe gets taken out and all 4 rings on the job are hosting bubbling puddings for a mere 6 hours. You can tell it’s been well used I think

Colossal, but not in the sense people normally imagine. Usually this gets conceptualised in terms of 'let's make a game called Don't Let Your Dog Poop By the Swings to teach people not to let their dog poop by the swings', where a game has a lesson to be imparted to the players didactically.
What opportunities are there for tabletop games to effect meaningful social change?

I very much look forward to not having to think much about politics for the next few years as it’s being done professionally and effectively with decent values. But I doubt I’m that lucky
