Can’t see a connection to rogue George & family atm but it’s bound to be there as unusual surname. More annoyingly can’t find any info on ‘my’ George after childhood census, but that’s for another time - day job calls!

to find I had been chasing the wrong George all this time! 😏 Spotted a discrepancy in age at death & looked again, finding another George born in similar area two years previously. Should also have noticed wrong father’s name on marriage, but hey I was a novice back then! ☺️ …

Knowing this one, he is almost certainly dreaming of the next way to kill something. If he had access to a gun, he’d be terrifying! 🙀. (He’s particularly partial to egg boxes!🤷🏼‍♀️)

Lovely! I’ve made many of her blankets over the years. Just need more family to gift them to - our house is full 😉 (maybe that’s where my 2 hobbies collide 🤔)

...standing at the window for the light and asking for help with spellings. She died when I was 2 years old but I have vague memories of an old lady sitting by the fire. I was named after her and admire the inner strength she must have had to just get on with life.

Emma went into service and by the age of 21 was working away in Surrey. She married my GGF there in 1912 and had 3 children within 3 years. Her husband died from TB in 1918 and she brought up her children, including my Gran by herself.
Mum remembered her as always writing letters ... (2/3)
