Thanks. I wouldn't call myself a painter either. I experiment and do it as hobby. Caricatures, acrylics, illustrations, rock art. It's fun. I like your work though - it looks so dynamic and you make it look so easy!!

Acrylic markers are very handy! I used them to paint this picture. I used brushes, dampened them, and then just took colour from the tip of whatever marker I chose. I've a set of 240. The background was done with proper paints and much dry brush but the portrait itself was using markers & brush.

The better side of social media at work. 👍

I do like that. Well "mooded"! It immediately brings to mind similar scenes in late Autumn or early winter when the weather closes in but brighter skies aren't far away

Thank you for taking the time to answer, Aidan. I find myself now reading up about cammág in Isle of Man and Bando in Wales.

Can I ask which came first? The Scottish style or what was found in Donegal? Also, the stick looks very shinty-like. Were all camàns and cammáns once the same shape at one time? Thank you

Pretty poor footage here, James, but best I could do in a rush.

It rolled in but dissipated quickly enough. The wind gusted strongly for all of 5min or so and then reverted to light. No sferics on coast or inland but plenty previous out to sea

Yup, a shelf cloud. I took a small video of it on my phone as it approached but couldn't do it justice. However this photo does! bsky.app/profile/srya...
Crazy dramatic shelf cloud ahead of an approaching thunderstorm from Wales in Dublin yesterday evening.

Glad you took the pic. Great shot. I took a small video clip on my phone when it approached shankill but didn't do it justice!

Having spent my childhood and youth fishing that lake I can imagine the impact. I've seen very low levels that made it impossible to get our boat out from a small shack of a boathouse we kept it in on the shore. Not to mention the fact that the lake provides a water source to many in the town.

Maybe better to celebrate it with a piece of rock art instead. Here's one I toyed with yesterday and left in local park this afternoon along with a few other pieces to celebrate Bealtaine
