Professional investor to fund my interest in reading and talking science, particularly ecology, biodiversity and the losses we face in our natural world.
Given how levered AI companies are we can expect them to embrace AI porn, slop, political con jobs and agitator bots in a desperate attempt to generate cash flow.

AI will not save the world - it could crush us under a mountain of fakery.
Hard for me to say how this is different from Fox News's entire business model, except that it's less sophisticated. This is transparently and obviously bad — and Elon should ban these accounts — but the spirit here of trading rage for money is pretty much a lot of right-wing media.

Very simple solution: require lawmakers to invest solely in broad index funds, no stock trading. There is zero reason to allow legislators to trade individual stocks while making policy. Any counter argument is self-serving BS.

They could pass this law tomorrow.

One wonders how long it be before for RFK Jr. does something about a manifest health danger that threatens fossil fuel companies.

The planet warms because of GHG, ice melts, albedo declines, more heat is trapped by our atmosphere - the Earth warms more. Inject more GHG and the cycle goes round.
The Earth is getting dimmer
New satellite data reveals that our planet is reflecting less sunlight than before. What is happening?

So the lawyer who represented the Tate’s, who now works for Trump, intervened? Conflicts much?

MAGA!
The White House Intervened on Behalf of Accused Sex Trafficker Andrew Tate During a Federal Investigation
Federal authorities were chided for seizing electronic devices from Tate and his brother, and told to return them, records and interviews show. Experts said the intervention was highly inappropriate.

I read Karp's book extolling the view that corporate America should embrace working for the government - like the aerospace companies in the last century.

It was simply a pre-apology for making billions by surveilling Americans. Yes, we should be very frightened
‘Fear really drives him’: is Alex Karp of Palantir the world’s scariest CEO?
His company is potentially creating the ultimate state surveillance tool, and Karp has recently been on a striking political and philosophical journey. His biographer reveals what makes him tick

Oil companies who never gave a damn about developing country welfare are using O&G as a future path to rural electrification to justify “the spew” now. Purely self-serving propaganda.

EV+batteries will pass O&G just like cell phones leapt over twisted copper wire.

When *Jeffrey Epstein* thinks you are evil…

I wonder how Mike Johnson goes home at night and looks his wife and children in the eye. How does he go the church and talk to his God? How does he sleep at night?

Power is a seductive drug.
NPR reported this morning that, based on their review of the #Epstein emails released yesterday, Trump’s name appeared more than 1,000 times in the document—

"I have met some very bad people, none as bad as #Trump. Not one decent cell in his body." - Jeffrey Epstein

WAG THE DOG. A lot of South Americans may have to die to cover up Trump’s sins.

MAGA!
Looks like we’re going to war with Venezuela to distract from the Epstein files.

Tylenol is deadly and worthy of the administration's full attention.

Living and working in methane gas pollution? Crickets.

Somebody forgot to slip Trump $1 billion on the sly.
We need videos from optical gas imaging cameras for CO₂ emissions.
What you see without an OGI camera vs what you see with an OGI camera.

What you are seeing in a plume of methane and VOCs.

You can see how it is so easy for them to ignore the ongoing systemic methane pollution.

Note that Elon will pay no state tax on his $1 trillion payday should he earn it. Seriously - is $500 billion not motivating enough for him? Does he feel no need to give back to the state that hosts him?

Funny argument from people who oppose raising the minimum wage.
The Texas Plan is always to tax working folks at on 100% of their income as a sales tax - because they spend 100% of their take home pay - but no income tax on millionaires.
so the plan for texas is to just not have schools anymore

Back in the days when media had such standards. The quaint notion that truth and trust came before clicks.
This story by @davidfolkenflik.bsky.social about Landon Thomas, former NYT reporter now appearing in the latest email tranche, soliciting a $30k contribution from Jeffrey Epstein?

Yes, you can read it here

She is doing the calculation: when does flipping on Trump benefit her more than hoping for a pardon?Trump knows this. He must be agonizing over making the pardon and probably being impeached - or letting the files come out and possibly being impeached.
No wonder Ghislaine is basically living at a hotel now.

Expect a pardon for Maxwell soon. The dam is breaking and it will be in her interest to flip and testify against Trump. He knows this.
Didn’t Maxwell say that she hadn’t ever seen Trump at Epstein’s house?

How did we get to the point where the president of the United States is a pedophile and a rapist that organized an insurrection to hold power and he was reelected? What a disgrace.

Hey MAGA - when Joe Biden came out on the stage and showed that he was not fit to be president again, Democrats replaced him, at great peril to their interests. It’s called courage and ethics.

I cannot imagine the insanity - or need for money - required to deny global warming but link insect and tree deaths, wildfires and declining animal populations to chemtrails.

What a venal ass.
