From an Icelandic friend I just learned an amazing term for crappy unexpected mid-April snow.
We have a term for it here, as it is an annual thing, just as everybody is starting to feel confident in the concept of spring, it will fuck off for a few weeks: *páskahret* which means "Easter rainy hail" in common parlance, but can also be read as "Easter wailing". Both meanings feel on point, to me.
