That leftie professor you're supposed to be scared of. (Not actually scary, but considering it.) Interests: useful gardens, subversive spec-fic (and books in general), dragon boats, writing, getting authoritarians out of office.
If you don’t win I will be Most Put Out on your behalf.

I mean, as long as it didn’t fall off the wall, I suppose it had a good and dignified death

I am loving these! Therapy for everyone, it’s not chemical castration or some shit. And the fish pics thing yesterday—I cackled. Surely not all men are primarily driven by seafood? If I want fish I go to the store. If you wanna impress, use a pic of you changing over your snow tires or useful shit.

I’m looking forward to the finale, but even more to this. I loved “Home”; thank you for giving us another companion story!

Amazing! Congratulations!

Correction: that part of the yard is doing a lot, making itself very happy and dumping lots of water toward the house. But nothing else I *want* it to do, so an Ent-shrine seems appropriate.

But the real question is how to kill it without drastic measures, like, say, burning the entire garden.

So my thanks to these neighbors for the reminder that presence in community is the enemy of despair. And that stories are our always our weapon and our solace. (3/3)

Mostly for reasons starting with Covid and ending with 19. But this year, more because despair isn’t just the enemy of hope. It makes you *afraid* to hope. Because what if you lose *again*. And again. (2/?)

During Cheeto Round 1, I documented or participated in a lot of protests—the 2016 RNC counterprotests, opposition to Unite the Right II, March for our Lives, the airport protests in Columbus, hate groups, etc. I haven’t been to a protest since 2019 (1/?)

I woke up to an email from my indie bookstore saying that I can pick it up today!!! Congrats on pub day!

Praying they achieve mutual destruction.

Same. And it was even better the second time.
June 5, 2025 at 12:44 PM
So the next book is a cookbook, right?

Oh NO

Wishing that descending in fury on a district office would also work…

Me: rolls up in a tank top
Teammate: laughs
Me: do I look cold?
Other teammate: we’re cold. You’re naked.

(I was actually anxious about it because the last time somebody made a TV adaptation of one of my favorite books, it was objectively 50% bad and 100% bad to me because the creators didn’t give a shit about the source material. MB is made with love and appreciation and that matters a lot.)
