This is absolutely correct.
As much as I love Chakotay, I really do not like Beltran at all. I’ve completely separated actor from character.

Star Trek Scouts and Star Trek Prodigy can and should exist in the same space. Kids of all ages should be included and represented within the Star Trek Universe. Decrying one because we don’t have the other is doing no one any good.

And Paramount is too chicken to do that still. They need to sell Trek to someone who cares. Let @ewr.bsky.social take it back. He’d respect the legacy that his father created and give us Gene’s vision.
Gene Roddenberry wanted to portray nonbinary people in Star Trek before his death, and also depict non-traditional family structures, but admitted he couldn't due to modern-day biases and the influence of capitalism.

Sadly, I think you’re right. Paramount is trying to kill the Trek franchise as sure as I’m typing this.
Bets on Paramount Plus' only new programming in 2026 being different varieties of Tyler Sheridan westerns? Starfleet Academy never makes it past New Paramount's promised ombudsman. Tawny Newsome's Trek sitcom definitely never sees the light of day.
