My feed is full of weird toys, genre media and strong feelings.
I've avoided 'Wrestling Women vs. the Aztec Mummy' for years because I thought it would be a slog, but it was awesome. Lots of problematic content like yellowface and a Yellow Peril theme, but if you are in this game working to see past it is part of the cost.

Another G1 Transformers oddity from S02E25. I want to desperately know what is going on in that center building.

For those that care, this is a Tracks centric episode that takes place in "the city" which is basically where you go if you want to get carjacked.

I’m challenging my nostalgia by rewatching G1 Transformers and comparing it to my memories. I am midway through S2.

My working companion today. Large mug for scale. Bruticus was the only combining robot I ever owned as a kid, this guy is a bit of nostalgia therapy.

We're an animation nerd family and we raised similar kids. It is totally possible @ralphbakshi.bsky.social comes up in conversation once a week for the last decade. My parents took me to see American Pop in the drive in in '81 and it sent me down a particular path. Glad he and Eddie are on Bluesky.

I've finished two honkaku novels, The Decagon House Murders and The MIll House Murders. They were fine. I had high hopes that were not met. TBH 50% of the problems were probably the English translation and the narrator of the first novel. I like Mill House a lot more, but still... Richard Osman next

I want to know his rich backstory.

.5 oz of grapefruit super juice (via Kevin Kos)
2 oz of Don Q Gold Rum
top off with Polar Pineapple Pomelo Seltzer in a rocks glass (or a Collins glass to lengthen)

I don't have a name for it, but maybe when this administration ends I should put out a book of "Getting through it" cocktails

Threw on Shadowzone (1990) in the background while I do some code experiments. Lots of fantastic career character actors in this and the great Louise Fletcher. Everyone is delivering their lines like they are under water or drugged, very odd. James Hong gets no criticism though, Hong is a king.

Comparing the book, movies and TV has been fun and has really made me appreciate Flanagan's ability to adapt material. After if you want to take a hard detour (and haven't already) I adore The Legend of Hell House which is Matheson's sideways adaption. Both book and movie are a blast.

I have a tiny degree of talent, but life has taught me that talent is useless and practice is everything. Now I'm in my 50s and resuming what I should have started in my teens. It's crap but its a start.

Finally finished Macross Plus after decades of wanting to. It was weirdly relevant. Relationships change, para social relationships probably won't end well and humans need to control AI, not the other way around. On to Macross 7 next.

I have a few sensory issues and need things to be a certain way often. I expect the world has things that meet my criteria that I am unaware of. I NEEDED a device for night time water consumption and apparently it is a thing. THE GLASS IS THE LID. I LOVE IT!

At Kettlehead in Meredith, NH trying their Tamworth Distilling colab cocktails. I see dead people.

Fan art by Philtomato. Muriel is what seals the deal on this one.

Failed at slowing down today to recoup from an intense month, but I did grab 30 min to throw together this Arcee figure from Blokees. Snap together with ball and socket joints. Better looking than most of the < $15 figures and comes with some pre-paint, a base and an LED.
