I am recycling an old joke of mine because we have been dealing with this nonsense for almost a decade now.

This administration should spin up a new crypto currency, the Dunning-Krugerrand. It will seem to be performing way better than it actually does, but they won't be able to tell.

I've avoided 'Wrestling Women vs. the Aztec Mummy' for years because I thought it would be a slog, but it was awesome. Lots of problematic content like yellowface and a Yellow Peril theme, but if you are in this game working to see past it is part of the cost.

Another G1 Transformers oddity from S02E25. I want to desperately know what is going on in that center building.

For those that care, this is a Tracks centric episode that takes place in "the city" which is basically where you go if you want to get carjacked.

I’m challenging my nostalgia by rewatching G1 Transformers and comparing it to my memories. I am midway through S2.

Dershowitz knows there is a difference between a private business not giving you a pierogi because you are acting like an @$$ and secret police kidnapping you off of the street without due process, but I guess this is the hill he wants to die on.

My working companion today. Large mug for scale. Bruticus was the only combining robot I ever owned as a kid, this guy is a bit of nostalgia therapy.

Spent the last 48 hours infusing rum with toasted coconut. It's funny how much the taste has changed from 24-48 hours. It's mellowed out considerably. I can already tell it is leaps and bounds above store bought and very cloudy due to the coconut fat. I'll do some filtering tonight and see how it is

I tried to come up with something related to "Comparisons of the Lilith archetype in mythology" but I couldn't get it to sing.
If you formed a tough scary biker gang based on your wimpiest hobby or field of interest, what would your tough scary biker gang be called?

I love this scene and it is one of the most effective in the whole film. We rarely get this kind of creeping dread in fantasy, animated or not.

Today's Dire Wolf news is similar to when older films used to paint animals to make them look like other species.

I hope the people and politicians guilty of supporting fascism will have a similar demoralizing experience that innocent people suffered under McCarthyism.

We're an animation nerd family and we raised similar kids. It is totally possible @ralphbakshi.bsky.social comes up in conversation once a week for the last decade. My parents took me to see American Pop in the drive in in '81 and it sent me down a particular path. Glad he and Eddie are on Bluesky.

I've finished two honkaku novels, The Decagon House Murders and The MIll House Murders. They were fine. I had high hopes that were not met. TBH 50% of the problems were probably the English translation and the narrator of the first novel. I like Mill House a lot more, but still... Richard Osman next

A great argument can be made for how the creative output of broadcast media has improved over time. See "Everything Bad is Good for You" 06.

What I miss is the weirdness of regional tv, creative people following their instincts and producing fantastic content.
