It was a beautiful Sunday in Portland. Farmer’s markets, the Portland Marathon, peaceful protests, and some views of Mt. Hood. This city is vibrant, peaceful, and resilient. We do not need a federal occupation, and we sure as hell don’t want one.

This is not just a musing from a dude with some various ideas. The next step is to hollow out the judiciary and also not follow their rulings, which have been against Musk’s efforts. This is a very obvious coup, for those not paying attention.

#OTD in 1943, CDR H.W. Gilmore was wounded on the bridge of USS Growler when the submarine was attacked while on the surface. Unable to get below, Gilmore sacrificed his life to save his sub by ordering "Take her down!" Gilmore was the first sub commander to be awarded the MoH.

I just checked. He's still the king. 😉 I think this must have been taken in 1949, after Tommy Duncan was fired. In the front row: Eldon Shamblin, Tiny Moore, Johnny Gimble, Bob Wills, Alex Brashear, Herb Remington. In the back, Luke Wills, Billy Jack Wills, (probably) Jack Loyd and Doc Lewis.
