1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️
My father was a WWII veteran, Pacific Theater. My disgust at this intentional act to disrespect patriotic American troops pales against what would be his reaction—were he alive today.

Right now, under federal statutes, President Trump can call us up as the militia if he sees it necessary, especially for three purposes: to repel invasions, to suppress insurrections, and to execute the laws of the union. And right now, we see all three of those in play.

The Supreme Court potentially gutting Section 2 & eliminating Black majority districts in the South is more consequential than anything we are fighting over in the shutdown. It would literally reverse what John Lewis & Dr. King fought for.
