I'm looking for the details, and the ideal hand-hold. Please don't give me operating instructions in pictures, I learnt English.

Man who used to set the rules, and then broke the rules, wanted tougher rules, because of people breaking the rules...

Then, he and his party chums pay £100, whilst public fines reached £10K...all as 1000s died, alone...because THEY followed the rules💔

Boris Johnson wanted authoritarian Covid rules, inquiry hears
In his diaries, Lord Vallance wrote that ex-PM thought rules were not ruthless enough.

ITV News at 10 - Reform are plugged again for the umpteenth time since May 1st as having ‘won’ English local elections. Yet Lib Dems & Greens who also had spectacular results don’t get a plug/never get a plug. WHY do we allow these one sided narratives?Sign now petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71...

Wow, we are now being officially advised against travel to the USA by the Canadian Association of University Teachers. I never thought I'd see the day. ☹️ #AcademicChatter

Gosh, who saw that coming?
5 years of Brexit...

In 2020, Yorkshire Bylines started the "David Downside Dossier"; named after David Davis' infamous quote that there would be no downsides to Brexit.

The DDD started recording "downsides" published in the media.

In Sept 2024, the DDD hit 2,000 recorded downsides -and stopped.
The Davis Downside Dossier
David Davis famously said there would be no downsides to Brexit only considerable upsides - so we started recording them.

If UK news shows are going to give Nigel Farage a platform to spout this absolute boll**** about Brexit & the vaccine rollout (unchallenged) I’ll happily come back every week to correct it

We cannot allow them to rewrite history.

If you agree share this FACT CHECK widely

This is heartening, and unsurprising.

I just came across these 2016 stickers in a drawer. Gosh, the disrespect of youth.

@lewesdc.bsky.social I can't find a schedule for green waste bin collection on your website. When do they resume after Christmas, please?

Not the White Cliffs of Dover (East Sussex humour).

@lewisgoodall.com Your remarks today about Remainers wanting another vote because they didn't like the first result do you little credit as a capable, experienced journalist. You know that Leave was based 100% on lies, misinformation and no detail. PV asked for an honest, informed vote, that's all.

Thoroughly recommend James O'Brien's Full Disclosure interview with Rupert Everett. A fascinating, in-depth insight into this man's very colourful life.

Enjoying Bluesky, but learning that sadly it too does that maddening thing, 'correcting' non-dictionary words after you've pressed 'Post.'

This is my mate Dave, David Celia. He's over from Toronto, and he's playing at Bom-Banes in Brighton this Thursday, 21st. If you're nearby, and like bright, sparkly songs and excellent guitarist, it's worth an hour or two of your time. Listen to his albums in the usual places.

Finally got to the William Morris Gallery, in Walthamstow, for the 'Art from the Islamic World' ex. So much to learn and so thought-provoking. The marvellous thing about exhibitions I have even the tiniest lead-in to is how they provide fascinating answers to many questions I'd never thought to ask.
