I really have a hard time with how some commentators, especially those I have respect for, seem to think that the left in the US has lurched further left. Looking at you Sam Harris. When in reality, it’s not remotely true.
Back in 2023, Elon Musk infamously posted and reposted a meme falsely claiming Republicans hadn't changed their views in the last decade, while Democrats had moved left.

The United States Military Academy has just eliminated all Cadet clubs and activities for POC. Most of these have existed for decades like the Society of Black Engineers. They were there when I was a Cadet in 1987. All of the religious ones remain. This isn’t DEI. It’s white Christian Nationalism.

So, it looks like Trump is going to use the Rubio Senate vacancy to have the governor install Lara Trump in the vacant senate seat. I feel sorry for the trumpets out there that don’t see this a horribly inappropriate and borderline illegal. This feels like it was the plan all along with Rubio.
