Remember when DJT called the January 6th protesters “peaceful?” Compare what you saw on that day to what you are seeing in LA. Clearly DJT gets to define what is peaceful. Scary times!

I now understand that most people run for Congress and the Senate, not because they want to make a difference, but because they want power. I have been so naive. I have given my vote too easily.

It is downright exhausting living in this country right now! I used to really believe that the USA had the strongest democracy in the world. I never imagined how easily it could be destroyed.

I’m a lawyer. I work with other lawyers; some of whom I consider to be very intelligent. These people know how government is supposed to work. Yet, many of them still support DJT. They understand what he is doing, but they don’t seem the least bit alarmed. I don’t get it!

If the Trump administration defies a court order and there are no consequences, the guardrails will be completely off and we will truly be living in under an authoritarian government. Congress has willingly allowed Trump and Musk’s actions to go unchecked.

The same people who were up in arms about confederate statues and monuments being removed because they claimed they are part of history have no issue with the contributions of blacks and women in the military being removed from military websites.

We’re in this mess in large part bc the average American is uninformed about fundamentals of civics, history, basic biology, economics, etc, and media and the internet are not meeting the moment.

Cutting federal jobs is supposed to reduce the deficit. But what does an increased unemployment rate do for the economy? If people aren’t making money they aren’t going to spend money. People aren’t stimulating the economy if they aren’t buying things.

The number of people I know personally (I live in a very red county in Florida) who actually believe that what Musk and Trump are doing is “going to be great for the country” and is “exactly why this country needs” is mind-boggling!
