If someone sends you a DM offering to send you 30K, you are the victim of a scam. They will lead you through their dog and pony show, and at the end, they require that you send them money for delivery of the money they are going to send you! The faster you want their money, the more expensive.

In that week when Musk bought Twitter & started bungling it, the possibility occurred to me that he'd bought it to end its usefulness as a pro-democracy tool. I'm so grateful for BlueSky & the fact that we're all here now & that it's increasing possible to get our news here too!

Among the political challenges we face, one of the biggest is understanding so many of our friends and neighbors do not feel participating in our political process is worth their time or attention. Apathy and ignorance are part of it. But I believe millions believe it just won't make a difference.

The tech barons behaved as though they were atop a social hierarchy, and expected mass adoration for their generosity+forgiveness for mistakes.
Instead, Elizabeth Warren, Lina Khan et al treated them like the heads of *massive corporations.*

In Jimmy LaFave, I hear a relentless optimism wrapped in a beautiful wistfulness and melancholy. I love his music. And one more thing, he is hands-down one of the best interpreters of other artist's songs. Highly recommended.
