“In 2017 there was not a single asylum seeker who arrived on a boat. Today we have 46,000 a year and do you know why? It was because of the botched Brexit deal pushed through by Boris Johnson and championed by Nigel Farage. Nigel Farage should be here apologising”

Wonderfully delusional statement from House Leader Mike Johnson about Trump wanting a 3rd term: I understand why so many Americans do wish that he could run for a third term, because he's accomplishing so much in this first 100 days that they wish it could go on for longer". Not sure that's true

Lovely to see @joannechocolat.bsky.social on Antiques Roadshow. Both my bros lived in that area, oldest taught at Fulneck Moravian school and Bronte House near wonderfully named village of Idle with its legendary Idle Men's Working Club! Your great Gran sounds amazing! The poor vicar!

Love your item on Guardian website @joannechocolat.bsky.social Libraries have changed so much. Remember my son completing 100 book challenge in our large children's section. We now have cafes and live music where deathly silence used to reign. Still a quiet section for those that need it.
