I think it's important that Lest We Forget isn't just about the people who served & those who died, it's also about why.

And a whole lot of people have clearly forgotten.

One thing I'm wondering.

We got our covid shots last week.

We didn't have to pay at the time.

Are they sending us a bill?

What are they going to do if we all don't pay?

I quite like my rad bike but I've recently just bought an extra battery & charger because it's been clear for a couple of years they may be gone soon.

For the first time in 40+ years I think, I changed the oil in my car (like, me, under the car, change).

Was pretty easy.

After my very expensive tires, brakes & front end work last week, I figured saving a bit doing it myself was a good plan.

Star Trek has been associated with being the inspiration for many things but I'm not sure many folks realize the impact it made on endangered humpbacks.

The awareness from this movie possibly saved them from extinction.
Another species no longer on the global Endangered list:
Humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae).

A few decades after a Star Trek movie where the central conflict was the total extinction of the humpback, their numbers are rising fast enough to put them at "Least Concern" on the IUCN Red List.

Here the story about my ban and why conflating HRT with GAHT is anti-trans and harmful
There are many misperceptions about taking testosterone — including among trans men — but the small amount Jules Sherred takes does not translate to bulging biceps. Those are the result of many hours of training, he said.
Changed Rules Will Shut a Trans Bodybuilder Out of Competition | The Tyee
The Canadian association that regulates the sport will no longer allow gender-affirming hormone therapy, citing American rules.

Watched a video on the health impacts of environmental infrasound and have been thinking about how miserably loud the city is. After almost a month out at the lake in September where the loudest noises are the migrating geese, it's stunning how loud it is even in the middle of the night.

Jackass who refused to bargain good faith, overrode the Canadian & Alberta bills of rights and imposed back to work & a 4 year ban on more collective bargaining or strikes.

Alberta is Not a democracy right now. And that's entirely on her. Sue her. Recall her. Recall them all.

When I first started renting videos in the late 80s, the charge for losing one was $80.

About $240 today.
Hold up.

I just saw an ad for the Muppet Christmas Carol VHS tape (I presume 1993). It said $22.99.

Did people really pay $23 in 90s money for tapes?! (We were poor, we only had a few and some probably bootlegged ones.)

Alberta needs anti slapp laws so badly. This is nonsense.

But of course the very people most likely to bring these lawsuits (hello The Breakdown) are the ones in bed with the ucp.

Support Luke if you can.
Hi Bluesky 👋

Small life update: I’m at the centre of a multimillion dollar lawsuit in Alberta launched by a failed candidate for Jason Kenney’s UCP

It may be the longest and most expensive media trial in Canadian history

I’m ready to go public about it and I want to share more details with you 🧵
