this is less internally coherent than Tumblr deciding that Tarzan is the lost brother of Elsa and Anna from Frozen because his parents were shipwrecked and their parents died in a shipwreck

Haven't gotten much show done this past week because of Fred's broken arm but still on track to record tomorrow! Watching Chip Cheezum's NBGO video for any fun examples I might have missed since most of my focus was on the breakin youtu.be/R6xoS6vdeuM?...

"I don’t even know why the scientists make them." is still a way I express disapproval

the guy breaking into the one building is definitely the highlight but as a fan of pattern recognition run amok there's a lot to enjoy. A youth shelter's dove icon kind of looks like Diamond Dogs! This building has the kanji for heaven on it, obviously an Outer Heaven reference!

Most people would be incredibly embarrassed to publicly admit they're still letting a grudge from middle school dictate their actions.

Puppet show fans dismissing special effects as "PS2 cutscenes" because it's not what they're nostalgic for doesn't make me like the Avatar movies any less

Evil playthroughs in Torment are interesting. If you are a good character you are constantly tempted with fun and interesting ways to betray and sabotage your allies, but if you're just an evil asshole to everyone you meet up front you miss out on a lot of actual content related to being evil.

Ironically the thing that has aged the worst about the original Prime is the sheer volume of text you have to wade through with the scan visor. Spending three seconds scanning to be told "This is a fire bug, it attacks with fire" across a paragraph is just the codex every AAA game has now but worse.

A big part of Prime's success was it being very different from what Nintendo was offering at the time. Everything from Pikmin to Zelda has recently been about assembling an incredibly chatty found family that include a superfan of the player character, Metroid is following instead of leading.

For once I'm playing as a low wisdom/intelligence character and it's a very different experience. Not being able to revive party members for free, having to wait until the catacombs to be able to speak to the dead, never figuring out Dakkon's whole deal because his puzzle is too hard.

Not a big fan of how millennial gamers have tried to rehab Chris Avellone as "just" a drunken asshole who sexually harassed a few people and then sued them into retraction when they went public. Luckily his bitter recluse era doesn't suggest a comeback, he's in the Ken Levine hole now.

That period between negative previews hitting and a game releasing where people make elaborate conspiracy theories about the publisher intentionally putting bad parts in previews or equivocating about how much sewage can be added to champagne before it becomes undrinkable.
