This thread is so, so good and interesting.
Hey, can I share some historical context with you about “race-baiter” Ebrahim Rasool?

When I see a South African who’s a little older, I always check what they were doing before 1990. 🧐

Found something surprising: As a boy, Rasool and his family were expelled from District Six.

After talking to sources on every side, it's become clear the stakes in the Eric Adams case are far higher than one man's fate.

MAGA is looking to tame the famously-independent US Atty's office in Manhattan. They're trying to take DOJ's "crown jewel" for itself.

Current and former SDNY colleagues of Emil Bove, Danielle Sassoon, and Hagan Scotten describe an office fighting to keep its independence under Trump, as its stars wage war against one another.

There's a standard pattern when a city like London or Stockholm adopts congestion pricing:

It's initially unpopular b/c drivers view congestion pricing as a tax, but support grows as locals see it reducing traffic and improving urban life.

Looks like it's happening in NYC, too -- and quickly.
6 in 10 say they want NYC congestion pricing to continue, new poll finds
A new poll finds a majority of voters want New York City congestion pricing to stay.

Every word I read about congestion pricing reminds me of when they reintroduced wolves in Yellowstone and the whole ecosystem started working correctly again.

You know what EVs have, just like conventional cars?
"The most abundant nanoplastic was tyre particles (41%), then polystyrene (28%) and polyethylene (12%). Each tyre on the world’s 1.6bn vehicles can lose 4kg during its lifetimes and may be the largest source of tiny plastic pollution."

I'm glad to see more people emphasizing the benefits of reduced noise pollution. It doesn't get as much attention, but noise pollution can affect health!
