Looks like @durbin.senate.gov is going to vote for the minibus and the continuing resolution from reading this statement:
November 10, 2025 at 1:37 AM
INBOX: Group trying to put Missouri's new congressional map up for a vote says it has 200K signatures.

Given that People Not Politicians need around 106K signatures spread across six out of eight congressional districts, only GOP legal action will block referendum at this point.

Man, if Missouri Dems get the signatures to put the MO map up for a November 2026 vote (and, therefore, preventing Rs from picking up #MO5 at least until 2028), Cleaver and Davids should start the "Outflanked Republicans on Redistricting Caucus:"

Was looking through a pre-trial brief for a lawsuits around the Missouri redistricting referendum. Chuck Hatfield of People Not Politicians quoted The Rock (and then included a footnote where Travis Kelce quoted The Rock):

Today in "AI really doesn't really know anything:"

I typed my name into Google (which I sometimes to do to check if any other news outlet wrote about my STLPR stories).

I was surprised to find out that I'm actually former Sen. Jason Holsman. And that main picture? MO Sen. Stephen Webber.

I visited Abe and Chessa Lee a few times in Ponca City back in the 1990s and early 2000s. It's one of my favorite places.

One of the most meaningful visits of my life came in 2019, when LTodd, B-Baum and D-Baum drove to Ponca City.

There's a small Jewish area in the cemetary w/ all the Lees.

Abe Lee eventually made it to Ponca City to be with his brother, Sam Lee. Abe Lee ended up owning a prominent Ponca City clothing store called The Hub.

Four of his sisters died in the Holocaust. His parents managed to get to Ponca City, where Abe Lee's dad lived until he was 100.

Eventually, Abe Lee was made prisoner AGAIN. This time he was held in a squalid Lithuanian jall for "spying." He would have been executed, if not for the good word of a prominent resident of the town he was in.

Abe Lee spent seven months as a prisoner of war. It is an absolute miracle he survived.
October 17, 2025 at 2:32 AM
What I also didn't know is that the Germans captured him in Russia and made him a prisoner of war for seven months. And he wasn't even captured while fighting: He was attending a wedding!
October 17, 2025 at 2:29 AM
I already knew that Abe Lee fought in the Russian Calvary during WWI and eventually fought in the Polish Army against Bolshevik Russia.

What I did NOT know is he joined the Russian Military when was FOURTEEN. (Grodno was part of Russia before WWI).

So here's a story that made my day: My cousin messaged me, He told me our very distant cousin in Moscow had been collecting a lot of ancestry info about my grandma's parents (who were born in Grodno, Poland, and eventually moved to Ponca City, OK).

Here's what I found out about my Grandpa Abe Lee:

#MO2 News: @fpwellman.bsky.social is jumping into electoral politics. The @meidastouch.com podcast host is challenging Republican Congresswoman Ann Wagner in Missouri's 2nd Congressional District.

#MO2 changes quite a bit with the new map. It's GOP-leaning, but not overwhelmingly so:

BREAKING: Missouri senators send a redrawn congressional map to Gov. Mike Kehoe that seeks to oust @cleaver.house.gov.

But a group called People Not Politicians says they will gather signatures to put the map up for a statewide vote. They'll need more than 100K signatures in a 90 day time period:
September 12, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Thus far, MO Reps. Onder, Wagner, Smith and Burlison have publicly said they're in favor of redrawing the state congressional map as a means to oust @cleaver.house.gov. Rep. Alford told me he's neutral.

As for Rep. Sam Graves? Here's his statement:

Serious question: Do people actually earn money for writing these insipid text political text messages that I randomly keep getting?

(And by the way guys, this "constitutional amendment" that's being referred to here has a -100% chance of being adopted now.)

I know a lot of people on the Bluesky are pretty leery about AI (to put it mildly).

Well, Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley and Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal are teaming up to allow people to sue AI companies for stealing their works without permission:

Bill Clay was an absolutely gigantic figure in Missouri and St. Louis politics.

He was the first Black person ever to represent Missouri in the House. And he helped create an environment where Black people could wield real political power in St. Louis.

He died at the age of 94. RIP to legend.
